I was brought up on a healthy dose of Def Leppard, Van Halen, Scorpions, and bands like them - although that type of music really isn't *inside* me, it certainly brings about emotions that I enjoy. I wanted to try to write a song with nothing but a bass, guitar, drums, and vocals with a harder genre than usual. As the song progressed, I felt some of the pain of the then-recent break-up I just gone through come to the surface. The lyrics came of those emotions - and the song 'Intensified' was born. |
