The Reflection
The depth of it stunned me as I stopped and stared…
I looked hard into his eyes.
The surrounding features – just a normal man,
But his eyes told of a tale older than time.
They showed me a brilliant place,
From whence I came.
Enveloped in an unconditional love…
Glory surrounding every corner.
They showed me a river – a river of pain.
Never giving up, deepening the meaning of his existence.
They showed me of a future.
A future of the glorious past…
Taking me back from whence I came.
